Elvis the Gorilla

As promised, here is the photo of me dressed up as Elvis. I was in cooking school at the time, and weighed a bit more than I do now. As I said before, I won second place in the costume contest. First prize was a balloon ride over Loire Valley, but of course, the prize went to someone dressed up as a princess. No matter how much effort you put into your costume, first prize always goes to the person with the most rhinestones. I should have worn my Las Vegas Elvis suit that day.

By the way, this was the second prize:

That's YOU?! WOW, you had me fooled, I thought it was REALLY The King! Some freaking princess beat you out? WHat's her name? Where do the judges live? I'm taking care of this for you!

Poor judging sucks my revolver.

Hitman J, the lady who won the costume contest is named Esme d'Etoile-Souslamer. Perhaps you've heard of her-- she turns up quite often in Gourmand magazine . She has gone on to do great things with lobster bisque, though I'm head and shoulders above her in the flambe department. The judges live all over the South of France. I think one of them competes in the Tour de France, but my memory is a bit hazy in that regard.

Thank you, Nonny. It is good to be out of the gloomy spot. I hope I didn't pass my bad mood onto you, though.

Lady Hearteater, you should have seen the gorilla harem-girl costume. I shudder.
